Officers shut down multimillion pound cannabis factory in Kingston |

Dear Community member,
We wanted to share an update with you on a great result around Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) and drug use that I know many of you have raised as an issue in Kingston Borough.
Earlier this year we acted on concerns raised by residents in Tolworth of ASB and drug activity around Tolworth Broadway. This information kick started an operation where a suspected large scale cannabis factory was discovered. Local safer neighbourhood officers with the help of specialist units including the police helicopter conducted a drugs warrant at the venue. What we found was one of the largest cannabis factories in London, with 568kg of cannabis to the potential street value of £4,000,000. Six men were arrested for the production of cannabis and were recently sentenced to a total of over 13 years in prison between them.
This is a great example of how working together with the local communities we can tackle the issues that matter most to you. We would like to say a big thank you to those who came forward to give us this information, which led to a large amount of drugs being taken off the street and the offenders being brought to justice.
